IRCVAC 2025: Major Highlight Groundbreaking Ceremony of the KRSD Trauma Centre. As we draw the curtain on the year 2025, we reflect on the defining activities and milestones that have shaped our journey and brought us this far. IRCVAC 2025, we dare say, was more than a conference. It was a movement, a powerful call to action for governments, institutions, stakeholders, and citizens alike. One of the most significant highlights of the conference was the groundbreaking ceremony of the KRSD Trauma Centre, a bold and timely response to the growing burden of road crashes across Africa and the world. In the wake of recent tragic events on our roads, the urgent need for a functional, accessible, and sustainable trauma response system cannot be overstated. This initiative represents hope for victims, dignity for survivors, and a decisive step toward saving lives when seconds matter most. As we journey into the year 2026, we renew our collective commitment to road safety and the preservation of human life. We call on all road users to be more safety conscious, to drive responsibly, and to strictly obey traffic signs and road safety laws. Every life lost on our roads is one too many. We also call on governments at all levels to prioritize the development and maintenance of safe road infrastructure, and to implement practical, victim-centred policies that provide timely care, rehabilitation, and long-term support for road crash victims and their families. This mission cannot be achieved in isolation. Building a world-class trauma centre requires shared responsibility, strategic partnerships, and sustained support from the public and private sectors, development partners, and concerned individuals. Please join us, together, we can strengthen emergency response systems, save lives, and restore hope to victims when it matters most. Dignify Your Life By Saving a Life. Road crash victims matter. Lives must be protected. The time to act is now. #IRCVAC2025 #rememberthevictims #dignifyyourlifebysavingalife #KRSDTRAUMACENTRE

As we celebrate the joy and hope of Christmas, Kwapda’as Road Safety Demand (KRSD) Foundation conveners of the International Road Crash Victims Africa Conference (IRCVAC) extend warm Christmas greetings to road crash victims, families, partners, advocates, and all road users. This season reminds us of love, compassion, and the value of every life. We remember road crash victims and stand in solidarity with their families, while renewing our collective commitment to safer roads, responsible driving, and stronger systems that protect lives. May this Christmas inspire kindness, patience, and caution on our roads. As we travel to be with loved ones, let us choose safety because every journey should end safely. From all of us at KRSD and IRCVAC, we wish you a peaceful Christmas and a New Year filled with hope, safety, and renewed resolve to save lives. #MerryChristmas #drivesafe #safetyfirst #IRCVAC #dignifyyourlifebysavingalife

IRCVAC 2025: HIGHLIGHTS A Historic First Conference for Road Crash Victims The International Road Crash Victims Africa Conference (IRCVAC 2025) has marked a powerful milestone, as we dare say, the world’s first victims-centred road crash conference. For three days, 16th – 18th November, 2025, Abuja became a gathering point for survivors, bereaved families, safety advocates, world leaders, policymakers, medical experts, and civil society. They all united for one purpose: “To put victims at the centre of road safety action”. Through testimonies, panels, memorial sessions, side events, and collaborative discussions, IRCVAC 2025 amplified the voices too often unheard and set a new standard for prevention, justice, support, and accountability across the continent. We honoured. We learned. We demanded change. And together, we built momentum for safer roads for all. IRCVAC 2025 was not just a conference, it was the beginning of a movement. A movement for action, change and justice for road crash victims. Thank you to every speaker, partner, organisation, survivor, and family who stood with us. The journey continues... #Remember #Support #Act #IRCVAC2025 #RememberTheVictims #RoadSafetyNow #AfricaForRoadSafety #NoMoreCrashes #DignifyEveryLife

Today we remember Mr. Bernard As we continue the conversation from IRCVAC 2025 where we listened to pain, to courage, to unfinished stories. We felt the weight of lives interrupted, families changed forever, and dreams left waiting. And even as the conference doors close, the conversation must not. Today, we remember Mr. Bernard and those who travelled ahead of us too early, too suddenly. They were mothers, fathers, children, friends, bright hopes for tomorrow. Though they are no longer here physically, their lives continue to speak loudly through us. IRCVAC reminded us: We honour the dead not only by mourning, but by standing for the living, by demanding safer roads, better systems, and protection for every life. Their memory remains our call to action. Their absence fuels our advocacy. Their stories must shape safer tomorrows. The conversation continues beyond the conference, into every heart, every road, every nation. #IRCVAC2025 #RememberTheVictims #GoneButNotForgotten #RoadSafetyNow #NoMoreCrashes #ForEveryLife #DignifyYourLifebySavingaLife

IRCVAC 2025: HIGHLIGHTS IRCVAC 2025 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims: Candlelight Procession 16th November, 2025 In loving memory of road crash victims, we walked together in solemn silence, holding candles in honour of every life lost on our roads. Each flame represented a story… a family… a future cut short. The candlelight procession reminded us that: • Behind every statistic is a real human being • Grief continues long after the crash • Road safety is a shared responsibility As the lights glowed in the night, we stood united with bereaved families, survivors, first responders, and advocates across the world. We remember. We honour. We commit to safer roads. Let every candle ignite a renewed call for action because every life matters. #Remember #Support #Act #IRCVAC2025 #WorldDayOfRemembrance #RememberTheVictims #RoadSafetyNow #NoMoreCrashes #AfricaRemembers #LightForTheLost #DignifyYourLifebySavingaLife #abuja #Nigeria #candles

IRCVAC 2025: HIGHLIGHTS IRCVAC 2025 World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims - Church Service 16th November, 2025 Honoring Lives, Comforting Families The IRCVAC team of the Kwapda’as Road Safety Demand Foundation (KRSD) and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), joined the global community to mark the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, gathering in prayer to honour every life lost and every family forever changed by road crashes. In a solemn church service, we reflected on: * The precious lives taken too soon * The loved ones left behind to carry unimaginable pain * The first responders and officers who are susceptible to one form of trauma or danger in the line of duty. * The urgent call to make our roads safer for all As prayers lifted, we reaffirmed our commitment to stand with victims, support survivors, and advocate for safer roads across Africa. Today marks a historic leap in Nigeria’s road safety journey as Alhaji Aliko Dangote performed the foundation laying ceremony of the proposed Kwapda’as Road Safety Demands (KRSD) Trauma Centre at Kabusa, FCT Abuja. This monumental project stands as a beacon of hope, designed to provide swift, life-saving emergency response for road crash victims and strengthen our national commitment to safer roads. It is the time to Remember, Support and Act for a safe motoring environment. With this groundbreaking, a new era of compassion, preparedness, and innovation begins. The KRSD Trauma Centre is more than a building, it is a legacy of humanity and a lifeline for countless families. Powered by the vision of the Founder, Her Lordship Honourable Justice Monica Dombam Mensem, and the generosity of Alhaji Aliko Dangote, it signifies a future where timely medical intervention will drastically reduce preventable fatalities. Today, we celebrate progress, partnership, and purpose, a powerful reminder that when visionary leaders invest in safety, communities thrive and lives are transformed.
