Props to @BrundageDante, aka, #BigBlackMcDante for starting his first semester at @ucsc majoring in Computer Engineering. This is a third year Gameheads veteran and he's now a college student. We are super proud of him.

Congratulations to "Lab Coat" @daddidiane who has started her college career @SJSU as an Animation and Illustration major @SJSUAnimation. It has been a long road for this one so we are very PROUD and EXCITED for her. We've also seen her work. She's going to tear it up over there.

Congratulations to @AbdoukhadrS who is OFFICIALLY a college freshman this fall @SFSU studying Computer Science. We are super proud of this young man.

We are live for the #GameheadsLIVE Showcase w/ Fernando Labarthe, Associate Sound Designer at @SHGames!

Diane’s goal for the summer was to become more comfortable with animating. She also had the tough task of designing a character that embodies all of the dualities on our team. She had to combine people's thoughts into a product, and did so successfully. #gamedev #womenintech #woc

Her family is ethnically Vietnamese, but half of her family is culturally Chinese. As a child she went to Chinese school, and was basically fluent, but she didn’t know of her Vietnamese side until middle school. Once she visited Vietnam, she realized how Americanized she is.

Finally, we have saved the best for last. Diane is the Artist & Animator for our project. She is 19, and is beginning her Freshman year at San Jose State for Animation. Her experience with duality comes from being connected to her Chinese side, but not her Vietnamese side.

This summer he wanted to convey his internal struggles of trying to find comfort & belonging with others, & expressing the unsettling journey to find said, “comfort.” He wants to remind people with the same duality that they’re not alone. #gamedev #brownboy #misunderstoodloner

He has always never felt he was Burmese or American enough for his peers in both respective cultures. Especially with his language disability he wasn’t able to grasp the language of either culture until he was 6. Even today he has a hard time identifying with either side.

Nyein Chan, (Ninja) is a programmer on our team. He is 18 years old, & is a Senior at Makeschool for his BS in Computer Science. His personal story of duality comes from his identity as an Asian-American who has always traveled back & forth between his hometown, & the motherland.

His involvement with this project was to try and convey his sense of limbo but instead he has discovered a new means to connect with a diverse range of people in regards to race, culture, and ethnicity. #gamdev #lightskinproblems #forthememes #diversity

He feels that he doesn’t super connect with his black peers despite growing up in West Oakland because his interests don't align. But since he is a young black man in America he doesn’t strongly connect to his German side either. However he takes pride in all of his backgrounds.

Dante is the level designer and programmer for our team. He is 17 years old, and will begin his freshman year at UC Santa Cruz in a few months. His story of duality stems from being raised in West Oakland, while identifying as mixed with Black and German.
