i’m sorry but i love kavan, and i’m usually very hard to impress when it comes to men. he took the challenge for what it was (a challenge, not a political conference), watched jasmine pull lorenzo for a chat not once but TWICE (something that was clearly meant to get a reaction out of him!!) and still stayed mature and respectful. then when his brother crossed a line, his first instinct wasn’t to defend his brother. it was to reassure jasmine. to make sure she knew he didn’t agree. to put boundaries where boundaries were needed. honestly, i didn’t fully understand why jasmine got that upset, but we all have moments where emotions get the better of us, and i think by the end she realized she had exaggerated some things. what stood out to me was that kavan never sat there listing her mistakes back to her (even though she listed his). he let her vent, he absorbed the frustration, bc in that moment he was the one able to carry it. some people keep bringing up his age, but kavan is actually a perfect example of what emotional maturity looks like. maturity isn’t about being older. maturity is knowing when your ego doesn’t need to win. and honestly watching him, i kept thinking that this is what care actually looks like. not grand speeches. not possessiveness. not making someone pay every time they hurt your feelings. just empathy, patience, respect and the ability to give grace to someone you love even when they’re not at their best. “it’s just love island” but it can be more, and i’m sure for them it will be more ❤️ #loveisland #loveislanduk
