Since then, it has saved more than 70 million lives, mostly kids. Death rates from diarrheal diseases dropped by over 80 percent in many countries. In crisis camps, it slashed mortality from 40 percent to under 5 percent. Any mother or village worker can make it at home with a spoon. Cheap, safe, and incredibly effective. One simple idea, born from compassion, now saves one to two million lives every single year. It proves the most powerful solutions are often the simplest ones. Science at its most beautiful, quietly giving hope and life to the poorest families on Earth.
