Today, I had the privilege of attending Paschimbanga Divas event, officially observed as the State Foundation Day by the State Government, first time since Independence, alongside Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi Ji at Tarakeshwar in Hooghly district. The date June 20 and the venue is of historical significance as Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee had organised a Convention at Tarakeshwar in 1947, where a decision was taken to ensure that West Bengal remained within India and that the Hindu-majority areas of undivided Bengal did not become part of East Pakistan. Later, on June 20, 1947, a Resolution supporting the partition of Bengal and the inclusion of West Bengal as a in India was passed in the Bengal Legislative Assembly. Hon'ble Prime Minister while addressing the audience said the State of West Bengal is witnessing a renewed sense of confidence and pride and a new fragrance is wafting from every particle here; as if West Bengal has now broken free from its shackles. I express my deepest gratitude to Hon'ble PM for acknowledging the State Government's efforts to accelerate border fencing along the India-Bangladesh border, which the previous State Govt had deliberately obstructed. I also thank him for the support and assistance provided by the Central Government which is helping the State Government in fulfilling the promises made to the People of West Bengal before the Polls. I wholeheartedly thank Hon’ble PM for launching a series of development projects for West Bengal and laying the foundation stones for several schemes from the Tarakeshwar dais. It is a matter of great pride that he released the latest instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme worth ₹18,880 crore, benefiting more than 9.44 crore farmers across the country, from West Bengal. @PMOIndia

Dr. Hedgewar founded the RSS inspired by the Hindu Nationalist ideas and traditions of the Anushilan Samiti in Bengal. However, it was the misfortune of Bengali Hindus that the Anushilan Samiti was eventually hijacked by communists during 1940s, and Bengali Hindus gradually moved towards communism. Had this not happened, the leadership of the Hindutva movement in India might have remained in Bengali hands. The precursor to the Hindu Mahasabha, the Punjab Hindu Sabha, was founded by a Bengali, Upendranath Mukherjee. On 21 October 1909, he publicly declared that the Indian National Congress was failing to protect the interests of Hindus and was instead facilitating Muslim politics. Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay is widely regarded as the first modern proponent of Hindu nationalism in India. In his novel Anandamath, he symbolically portrayed India as Goddess Durga and called for the establishment of India as a Hindu nation. Binoy Kumar Sarkar of Malda district, through extensive research into ancient texts and manuscripts, developed the foundations of modern Hindu economics and Hindu sociology in India, presenting a vision of what an ideal Hindu state could look like. At a time when Nehruvian historians were, in the eyes of many nationalists, distorting Indian history and glorifying aspects of Islamic rule, two Bengali nationalist historians from East Bengal Jadunath Sarkar and Ramesh Chandra Majumdar highlighted the achievements of Hindu civilization and documented the brutality of several Islamic rulers. I hope that Bengalis will once again play a leading role in ushering in a golden age of Hindutva.

@stargazer_26 @VEDANJANAM Yes but not at this scale. Nobody will agree though as Jain temples are not run by cash donations, most of the expenses are managed by devotees personally. Most trustees are financially well off.
