@JoSte95 ah, ok, that makes sense. As for the native speaker - it doesn't have to be one, you just need someone with very good written English. Also, what is "native" is different in different English-speaking countries. For example, no "fewer" in India - it's always "less"...

proofreading manuscript before it goes to co-authors/colleagues. When you can count it it's "fewer" not "less" The plural of matrix is matrices there's a space between number and unit I think we're good to go...

@BeckerLabCRTD For the 1st point I agree, but our projects often have international collaborators who can proofread in addition to their scientific contribution. Regarding AI: correct prompting for specific phrases, not complete manuscript, works well for me - does not solve energy concerns tho

@JoSte95 argh! NO! 1. a proof-reader is not a co-author (if that's the only thing they've done). 2. Do not use AI - it'll iron nuance from your paper (plus it's really draining on the environment).

@BeckerLabCRTD That's certainly a plus when writing in English! I still have yet to find out if my writing is good enough for publication without having a native speaker as co-author who can iron out the small mistakes... but I guess that's what they made AI for!

@jzaraterod Think it‘s a different approach in Europe. At least in Germany appy is still mostly a clinical diagnosis + US (+ gyn counsil if reasonable) but I know that in the US I think the vast majority gets a CT before appy. I couldn‘t say what‘s better
