Do you know how economically dependent India is on us?
In December 2022, during Sheikh Hasina's tenure, Bangladesh and India signed an agreement to build a cross-border pipeline to supply diesel to Bangladesh.
India covered 75% of the cost of the 130 km pipeline – just so they can sell us their diesel.
The reason is simple, transporting refined diesel from Assam to the other northeastern states of India is extremely expensive for them.
