Healthy eating curricula in schools can cause more harm than good when it comes to eating disorders. Thank you @mallarytenore and @washingtonpost for an eye-opening story.

@rwclimate @janevandis @EricHolthaus @FlightFreeUSA Oh I'm so glad you think it invites reflection—I hope so. I'm far from a model, just trying to live as well as I can.
English

@silviakillings Glad you found me—I'm terrible at remembering to check Twitter!

@katesiber Hi Kate! What's your best email contact? Trying to reach you about including a piece you wrote in a HarperCollins anthology.
English

@katesiber Thanks for the honesty in your article. I'm so sorry that you went through this. I pray that your article brings comfort and healing to others struggling with this.

When I wrote this story, it didn't feel particularly charged since it was distant past. But now that it's out in the world, it feels a little tender. My hope is that it makes its way to those who would enjoy or benefit from reading it... outsideonline.com/2420850/nature…

@FaheyDaniel I have found a website immeasurably helpful. AND! I was looking for your website for your contact info and couldn't find it! I am wondering if there's any chance you would be open to an interview for a story? I could tell you more by email. I'll DM you with mine...

@ka_hodgson I'm on a solo writing retreat, snow falling outside on desert junipers, and your words are such an encouragement. Thank you. May today be a good day for you too.

@katesiber Even with difficult topics, your writing is a soothing balm. Thank you for so beautifully capturing the feeling of groundedness.

@katesiber @outsidemagazine
was going thru ur article published on 9-Nov (Winter Solstice...) It was interesting read but what I missed were few more pics. If you did click, do share with us readers. Cheers :)
English

@BooksCoffey @ArcticHive Thank you for reading it. I'm not sure if you would remember, but we crossed paths a long time ago when you wrote for Outside (and I was a factchecker). I admire your work. Nice to be in touch!
English

@mollyshirreen Thank you, as always, for the wise and crucial editing!

"The future always looks scarier from the confines of imagination, and polar night was not so unnerving once I was in it."
this is a lovely essay from @katesiber about her stay at an Arctic retreat during the darkest time of the year: outsideonline.com/adventure-trav…

@drewphilp @evaholland Oh good! So glad you liked it. You made my day.
English

@evaholland @katesiber This story was breathtaking. I clicked because I'm headed to Iceland next week for the first time and, while not this extreme, I was interested in the short days. But this makes me want to visit the arctic one day. And my God the writing here. I nearly wept.

@XercisingFoodie I imagine this is a question best fielded on a nuanced individual basis by one’s physician. There is such a multiplicity of experiences and journeys to health within the huge umbrella of eating disorders.
English

@katesiber How do you suggest approaching someone who is in this category but isn't eating enough nutritional food because they think they can't because they had too many cookies/chips etc?
English

Chances are you know someone who is quietly suffering from this common yet little-recognized eating disorder. Enormous thanks to my amazing, courageous, generous sources. Spread the word. nytimes.com/2022/10/18/mag…

@BrilliantAqua I am so sorry this was your experience, and I sincerely hope you are getting all the support you need and more to live fully and happily in your miraculous human body.
English

@katesiber Just read this today and thought this was a brilliant, beautiful, compassionate article. Thank you for writing it!
English

@lisajdubreuil @nytimes Oh that's so good to hear—so glad it is having a positive impact!
English

@heysharonmaxwel @kathleenmRDN This really means a lot, Sharon. Thank you. I hope you’re receiving huge gratitude and support from readers who are moved by your story.
English

@katesiber @kathleenmRDN Endlessly grateful for the countless hours you spent over the last many months researching about and writing this, Kate. The dignity, respect, and compassion you offered me while I shared my story with you is something I will never forget.
English

@LKhere Oh, FoCo is a reference to Food Court, a dining hall at Dartmouth. That's it!
English

@katesiber hi Kate. Enjoying yr cover story of Chelsey L. Um, slang question….what is a ‘FoCo person, like grilled cheese and fries’. As in freedom of choice? Thnx 🤨
