Mr. Fernansio Okot, Deputy Head Teacher, Panyandoli Self Help Secondary School. @lgrb_uganda is glad to have the school administration on board in sensitising young people against underage gaming. We may not reach everyone at the same time, but we won’t leave anyone behind in gaming awareness. #ResponsibleGamingUg #SayNoToUnderageGaming

🌍Sensitisation in the Albertine Region. This morning, @lgrb_uganda's Responsible Gaming team visited Masindi Secondary School to sensitize students against gaming. Through interactive discussions, real life examples, and student participation, the team highlighted how gaming not only affects young minds but also poses a potential risk to academic performance. "As a school, we need our learners to maintain a focused and disciplined mindset. If their attention becomes preoccupied with activities such as betting, it will inevitably affect their concentration and hinder their academic progress." Agnes Nakazibwe, Head Teacher Masindi Secondary School The school sensitisation engagements are part of the Board’s ongoing efforts to curb underage gaming across Uganda. #ResponsibleGamingUg #SayNoToUnderageGaming

🏫Kigumba Intensive Secondary- Kiryandongo • What measures are in place to prevent boys from betting online? • How is the gambling regulator ensuring betting shops comply with age restrictions? • If students are being advised to stay away from betting, what should they do with their money? • Is the gambling sensitisation happening in all schools? • Are betting shop owners punished if they are caught letting young people bet? Curious young students raised powerful questions about gaming, and @lgrb_uganda’s Responsible Gaming team was there to share knowledge and help protect their young, vulnerable minds. As we sensitise minors about the risks of underage gaming, we also create a safe space where they feel comfortable asking questions and learning more. #ResponsibleGamingUg #SayNoToUnderageGaming

#SayNoToUnderageGaming "Tumia juhudi zako zote kuimarisha masomo yako" – "Put all your effort into improving your studies."  was the key message the teacher on duty gave to the students at Masindi Army Secondary School. At Masindi Army Secondary School, a school with over 2,000 students, we had an engaging and insightful sensitisation session with the students. We emphasised the importance of focusing on education and making the most of their academic journey. Students were encouraged to use their phones and time for research, learning, and personal growth rather than distractions. A major topic of discussion was the dangers of underage gaming. We highlighted how such activities can derail studies and negatively affect young minds. #ResponsibleGamingUg

She noted that the session helped media practitioners understand how to draft informed stories on gaming and where to access credible information for their reporting. Amony thanked the Board for organizing the timely engagement, and appealed to the Board to consider organizing periodic media engagements in different sub-regions so that more journalists can benefit from similar interactions and explore the positive contributions of the gaming industry.
