The Sikh community should not be put on trial for the actions of Vickrum Digwa. He used a 21cm knife, not a kirpan, to stab Henry Nowak. Cases involving kirpans in criminal activity are rare. Religious freedoms should not be curtailed because of the actions of one individual.

I am ashamed Sikh community leaders felt the need to do this.
When a Christian commits murder, the Archbishop of Canterbury doesn't feel the need to say it wasn't a Christian act.
Yet we're in a country where brown people of alternate faiths have to formally announce they're not all criminals.

The Sikh community condemned this immediately. They made it clear he does not represent them and said they would deal with it within their community. The Sikh community should not be blamed for one man's actions. Neither should Muslims be blamed for the actions of grooming gangs. My question is simple. Where were the prominent Pakistani Muslim voices saying the same thing when the grooming gang scandals first broke? Or more importantly our weak government!
