Okay so my phone suddenly quacking like a demented duck in the middle of a meeting because one of the kids changed my ringtone is on a par embarrassment-wise with the time I reached into my bag for my stethoscope and pulled out a pair of kids underpants.

Good morning you lovely lot,
It’s Wednesday. Hump Day. A phrase that sounded considerably more exciting in my younger years. These days it mostly means I’ve successfully navigated Monday and Tuesday without telling anyone exactly what I think of them.
We’re over the halfway line now, so keep going. The weekend is in sight, lurking just beyond a mountain of emails, pointless meetings, and that one person who walks into the office and says, “Living the dream?” before you’ve even had a brew.
Tonight England begin their World Cup campaign and we wish the lads all the luck in the world. I am however slightly confused by our decision to put a German in charge of England. Have we genuinely run out of English managers? I’d have accepted Ted Lasso. At least we’d get a team talk, a biscuit and a tactical plan that doesn’t involve crossing repeatedly into a box containing absolutely nobody.
Still, let’s get behind the boys. Nothing brings the nation together quite like ninety minutes of shouting tactical advice at the television despite being three pints deep and carrying enough weight to have our own postcode.
Whatever today throws at you, keep smiling, be kind, hold doors open, say thank you, and remember: the world already has enough miserable sods in it.
