medyo surprised me may ilang hindi pa rin alam kailan nangyayari ang ovulation. understandable lalo na if lalaki, pero it’s important to be informed about this if ayaw niyong makabuntis tapos tatakbo kayo sa responsibilidad. wag umasa sa “safe days”
ovulation doesn’t occur during menstruation. it happens several days after our period ends around the middle of the menstrual cycle (varies per person) the egg only survives for about 12 to 24 hours after ovulation, pero ang sperm once nakapasok sa reproductive tract (nakatawid sa cervix namin), they can survive up to 5 days under ideal conditions.
cervix is the narrow opening between the vagina and the uterus, dito dumadaan ang sperm para makapasok sa uterus at fallopian tubes kung saan nag o-occur fertilization.
kaya may tinatawag na “fertile window” (around 6 days)
- 5 days before ovulation (buhay sperm)
- day of ovulation (short-lived egg)
meaning, pwede at MAS mataas chance mabuntis days BEFORE. kung nakipagtalik 3 days before ovulation, possible mabuhay pa ang sperm hanggang dumating yung ovulation. once narelease yung egg, pwedeng ma-fertilize within 12–24 hours
Q: when is the “best” time to have sex?
- if trying to conceive, fertile window
- if NOT ready to get pregnant, there’s really no “safe day”
cycle tracking isn’t reliable. ovulation can shift due to hormones (stress, lack of sleep, illness/fever, hormonal conditions, etc) protection is the most effective way to reduce risk :))
