@jensimmons @descript and for comparison, getContext(‘2d’) *does* work from the same spot (and on chrome)—I’m calling canvas.transferControlToOffscreen() and posting it to a worker (with transfer), then trying to getContext on the worker

@jensimmons do you happen to know if OffscreenCanvas + webgl is part of interop 2023 or planned for WebKit? (Awesome that canvas2d shipped, so hopeful that this is in the cards—we need it to properly support Safari in @descript) cheers!

every day, i have several dozen interactions with software that is completely broken. it's not usually quite as bad as this, but this also isn't an outlier. nothing in the digital world fucking works.
as an industry, we have completely and utterly failed. we're a joke.

Meta's new generally released AI is free for most commercial and scientific use. The tests they released suggest it is pretty capable - getting close to GPT-3.5 on a number of measures (but not coding). Expect to see improvements as the wider community starts to tinker with it.

On popular request, today we're releasing a 24 KHz version of DAC, with the same config as EnCodec (24 kbps, 32 codebooks, 320 stride). DAC is more than 2x better than EnCodec in key quantitative metrics.
