@stubbornella Also asking for this kinda thing redflags employers for lack of leadership training. Why does a (tech) company require your regular physical presence? What kind of control do they gain and why can‘t their management lead remotely? And why is this supposed to be my problem?

@stubbornella Had this question as part of an interview recently. If you want me to regularly appear in person, you are severely impacting my personal time. So: 1) count commute as work time or 2) reduce work hours without lowering pay, AND THEM 3) pay me 20% extra for the inconvenience.

Legit question: what could a company offer you to make you happy to move from fully remote to hybrid with a substantial commute or relocation?

@mweinbach 2 looks better as a thumbnail but the compression and other artifacts make this useless for anything else. I’d pick 1 and run it through lightroom. Same as my main complain about the iphone cam, their sharpening algorithms make the pictures worthless for medium scale prints.

Which one is better? 1 or 2? One of them is Galaxy S23 Ultra and the other is iPhone 15 Pro Max, both at 25x zoom

@MichaelAArouet We‘re divided on the issue. Children are not seen as desireable by a sizeable part of adults in Germany. For economic reasons, because we worry about the future, or because we have to realistically choose between either having children or doing other, fun things with our money.

When you have spent weeks completely exhausting your energy at work, recovery is not pleasant. Creativity, motivation, emotional balance, none of it works like normal. The only thing you can do is accept that and wait. So it really feels like you‘re losing time, twice.
