@ArlinStoltzfus @DanielBolnick Michael Lynch got a whole paper into Genetics a few years ago about how this change in equilibrium frequency leads to a fitness decline that is as bad as climate change or something.

@DanielBolnick I don't see a misconception. For the simplest case, the mutation-selection balance is f = u / s where u is the mutation rate and s is the fitness disadvantage. Increasing u or decreasing s increases the expected frequency. Treatment reduces the disadvantage, making s smaller.
