A6) I try to keep class normal as possible by using tech over Google Meet; Presentation? @PearDeck Class Discussion? @padlet Graphic Organizer? Docs or @usekamiapp Partner/group work? @GoogleForEdu Jamboard, Docs, Slides, breakouts on Meet, etc. #engsschat

@kwillmann Love @padlet ! Used it last week to have my Ss collaboratively create a timeline of the 20th century to kick off our US History 2 class! #engsschat

#engsschat a5 - Padlet helps me to get students to share reading summaries in a public place - builds accountability and a common language.

@kjobecordedu1 I did Kahoot today with some Ss in-person and some online! I presented it over Google Meet, and it worked great! #engsschat

A5- When we are all in person I love Kahoot. When we are distance learning flipgrid has proven to be very beneficial and collaborative. It gives students a chance to do their own work with their own creative flare to it! #Engsschat

@Gr8tlyHaillie Today I tried breakout rooms on Google Meet by crest a Google Doc with names of S pairs hyperlinked to individual meets. I always match on in-class S with one online S (we’re doing hybrid). Going well so far! #engsshat

A4- I plan to encourage peer to peer interaction and provide an environment where they feel comfortable talking to each other. Unsure how though... Modeling maybe?? Group work? #engsschat

A5) This year I’ve also been relying heavily on @usekamiapp esp. with the new @GoogleForEdu features! I upload WSs there for students to write on digitally, and I also use it as a whiteboard to present over #GoogleMeet for my virtual Ss #engsschat

A4a) I have had most of my many of my Ss parents in my classes so I am lucky to have threads of connection - almost a 5 Degrees kind of thing. #engsschat

A4: I've done a weekly @Flipgrid that only I see with each Ss to build a one-on-one relationhip. When they feel connected to the course and to me, they will open up to others. #engsschat

A4) I surveyed my Ss about their interests and learning needs/preferences. Our first ice breaker was discussing the origins of our names, and the second was writing a personal fact about them that I had to guess based off the info in the survey #engsschat

A3) biggest challenges are balancing all the prepa for two different content areas and getting to know other Ts—especially in the COVID era! #engsschat

@CHitch94 I can relate! I have to drive between two schools in the middle of the day haha (I kind of like the break for fresh air though)

A3) Not having my own classroom and having to literally walk across the entire school between most of my classes (also went 1st through 5th periods with no breaks the first semester). Not experiencing that now, thankfully. LOL #engsschat
