@YBenlemlih @tan_stack It wraps the call in some error/route handling, for example if you `throw redirect('/sign-in')` in your function or function middleware for not being authenticated then it will automatically handle doing that redirect for you.

What does useServerFn in @tan_stack Start ACTUALLY do? Up until now, I though that server functions (created with createServerFn) can be called directly in components and result in RPC calls. A bit confused, since I can't find docs related to useServerFn.

An insane statistic from the UK: If you are a "high earner" on £100,000 - £125,000, you only get to keep £38 of every £100 you earn -The Telegraph

yes deffo have to factor in inflation but ~£1m each is overshooting it. we both want to retire abroad for example. indeed, blended approach jus means we have some security and the confidence to jump sooner—that's the only reason i'm considering it cos otherwise i'll keep working forever thinking "what if".

📖 current reading. it’s painfully repetitive but… TIL annuities. a Purchased Life Annuity lets you invest a lump sum in return for a guaranteed, tax efficient income FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE 😳 criminal i wasn’t taught this at school. anyone do this? canadalife.co.uk/retirement/pur…

@jjenzz @giuseppegurgone Inflation hurts annuities. Spending power of £20k today vs in 30 years is about half at 2%. You can get inflation tracking, but it's a lot lower income. I like the blended approach, lock in some guaranteed income with an annuity and let the rest ride in a balanced portfolio.

yes we'd need to put ~£1m each in i reckon. if i purchase at 45 the yield will be much lower ofc, so let's say ~4% to play it safer... i'll be surprised if we need that much each (plus ETF profits) when we're 75+, and my husband is 7 yrs older than me so will get a higher yield. i don't care about breaking even, or even profit tbh (hence die with zero). i just wanna spend more time making memories w/ hubby while we still young. we figuring the best way to burn through our cash between now and death so we can do that.

@jjenzz it’s like purchasing a form of insurance that pays out slowly. Or, more accurately, an accumulative bet between how long you will live, rate of inflation, and the rate of returns from stocks/bonds. Life long enough or low inflation or low market returns = you win

is there a solid all-in-one vibe + no-code solution? my dad doesn't code, so while he vibe coded the first ~80% easily, the last 20% (tweaking colours, adjusting UI, adding images/videos) is tough w/o burning through tokens

These first beta releases are more about making the underlying new API changes available to developers - and not for consumers judging OS level visual design. They'll tighten it all up before GA in September. Judge it then, rather than rage bait farming now.

@jjenzz How to handle the perceived detrimental impact on mentoring without PR reviews? Whether that be more junior members, or new team members who are getting up to speed with the heuristics of a codebase.
