Wrong. Vance's visit to Budapest is not 'normal diplomacy,' but a blatant attempt to support a floundering autocrat. 'Normal diplomacy' does not involve state visits days before a bitterly contested election. Nor does it involve attending political rallies. This is the kind of thing that Putin did in Ukraine in 2004. It's called 'autocracy promotion' or 'democracy prevention.'

Alors que des preuves montrent que la Hongrie a livré des informations classifiée à la Russie, J.D Vance se rend à Budapest pour soutenir Orban avant les élections.
Outre l'ingérence évidente juste avant les élections (mais on n'est plus à ça près), c'est un marqueur important de la politique étrangère des États-Unis vis-à-vis des Européens. C'est-à-dire qu'ils choisissent consciemment de soutenir celui même qui fait tout pour bloquer les institutions européennes.
Il faut bien se rendre compte que dans un monde normal, les États-Unis auraient mis un maximum de pression sur la Hongrie et Orban pour le forcer à faire respecter le droit. Sans compter les révélations sur la collaboration avec la Russie.
Il est donc officiel (même si on le savait déjà) que Washington soutient ceux qui affaiblissent l'Union Européenne. Washington valide, par cette visite, la collaboration entre la Hongrie et la Russie de Poutine. Il faut s'accrocher parce qu'à ce rythme, il ne restera plus grand chose à la fin du second mandat de Trump.

🇺🇸🇰🇷Donald Trump s'en prend désormais à la Corée du Sud, au Japon et à l'Australie. Il critique lourdement ses alliés et chante les louanges de Kim Jong Un. Je dis bien Kim Jong Un. À quel moment est-ce que les États-uniens vont-ils se réveiller et se rendre compte que Trump est en train de détruire toute la sphère d'influence de leur pays ? En venir à complimenter le leader nord-coréen seulement parce qu'il l'a flatté est inquiétant. Il y aura un avant et un après ce second mandat de Donald Trump. En seulement une année, il a fait énormément de mal et il est difficile de prévoir ce qui restera de l'OTAN, l'AUKUS et tout le reste lorsqu'il quittera le pouvoir (s'il le quitte). Je suis convaincu qu'il n'en est qu'au début. L'avantage, au moins, c'est qu'il tape sur tout le monde, certes, mais pour l'instant on en reste largement à des paroles en l'air et des menaces dans le vent. S'il finit par en arriver aux actes concrets, là par contre il y aura une vraie crise. Pour le moment, tout le monde attend sagement que l'orage passe en serrant les dents et en espérant passer à travers les gouttes. Terrible de voir que même en 2026, un seul homme peut avoir autant le champ libre pour saboter son pays et détruire petit à petit l'ordre mondial.

The White House wonders why Europe won’t rally behind America in Iran. Maybe start by asking why your Vice President is flying to Budapest to have a warm chat with Viktor Orban, the man running a Russian influence operation from inside NATO’s borders.
While Europe has been bleeding money and weapons to stop Russian aggression, Hungary has been blocking NATO decisions, sheltering Russian intelligence, and doing Moscow’s diplomatic dirty work at every turn. Orban isn’t America’s friend. He’s Putin’s man in Brussels.
And JD Vance calls him a “good friend.”
Europe is supposed to line up behind a war that had no plan for day two, no strategy for the Strait of Hormuz, and no consultation with allies beyond Israel. A war that has already sent oil past $100 a barrel and left one of America’s most powerful warships reportedly retreating toward the Indian Ocean.
You don’t get to lecture Europe about loyalty while embracing the man working to destroy the alliance from within, and then demand backup for a war you started without asking anyone.
