Anyone who knows the International Committee of the Red Cross knows that their official policy is to never speak out (icrc.org/en/document/co…) Which is why such a statement by the ICRC president is so exceptional, and why you should listen. Here's what she says: "The things I saw [in the European Gaza hospital] is beyond anything that anyone should be in a position to described. What shocked me the most were the children, with atrocious injuries and at the same time having lost their parents with no-one looking after them. We are facing a situation here that will not be healed by sending in more trucks. We need to provide protection to the civilians in Gaza, to the women and children, to the elderly people that I saw today that have nowhere to go... We have to find solutions to this. We can't turn away from what is evidently a moral failure in the face of the international community."

⚠️Gaza Update Humanitarian organizations that once warned of catastrophe in Gaza are now describing “apocalypse”: Israel’s relentless bombing of Palestinian society has taken it past the point of collapse.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres: “What we are witnessing in Gaza is a killing of civilians [especially children] that is unparalleled and unprecedented in any conflict since I am Secretary-General. As you know, we report every year on children killed in armed conflicts by different actors. I have already presented seven reports, and in these reports the highest number of children killed in one year by one actor was the Taliban in 2017-8. The second by the Syrian government and its allies, before 2020, and it was around 700. We’ve had Russia last year: 350. We had Saudi Arabia, if you remember the uproar in relation to Yemen. In one year, the maximum was 300. Now, without entering into discussion about the accuracy of the numbers that were published by the authorities in Gaza, what is clear is that we’ve had in a few weeks thousands of children killed. So this is what matters”.

THE SITUATION NOW IS TRAGIC AND POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DESCRIBE IT. WE ARE TRAPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF GAZA STRIP. REMEMBER, WE ARE NOT JUST CONTENT YOU SHARE. WE ARE HUMANS FACING GENOCIDE UNDER THE WATCH OF THE WORLD, AND NO ONE IS MOVING TO SAVE US.
