So, as some of you may know I have covered the Pels religiously for about 8 years before moving to Japan.
However, when I check Sns and post I get flashbacks. It seems like names change but the vibe as a fan is the same.
I want to ask, how do you feel as a pels fan in 2026?

I've been away from the Pels and the NBA in general for the better part of 6+ years, watching the NBA in Japan is tough (until the recent Prime deal, that helps a lot).

I believe papers about extinct charismatic vertebrates should be held to the same publishing standards & norms as other groups. It's bizarre that papers describing a single species gets published in Science/Nature as if that's considered of broad paleobiological significance lol

@paleoacker To be clear, I’m not saying to start training kids at an early age or actively discourage them from entering the field. I just think you need to be straight with them on what the field is like and how it’s hard to get into, and let them decide if they still want to pursue it.

I think kids should have the chance to be kids and not worry about this stuff BUT I recommend finding and speaking with paleontologists at local universities or museums. They’ll be able to provide local things you can do (Maybe even help with research when you’re old enough).

I feel like we don’t talk about how to actually get into the field of paleontology enough. ESPECIALLY to young children who might want to get into the field. Like what you should be doing at what age, what to look out for/keep in mind, etc.

Oh boy here we go again. As a reminder the Allosaurus in LOOP(and subsequently Dinosaurs) is based at least partly on this articulated Allosaurus jimmadseni skeleton and was built from the ground up. This comes from one of the paleontology consultants on LOOP itself…
