.@Spaces4Change and @ESCRNet, in solidarity with the residents of Makoko, are leading this collective call for justice!⚖️📢 What is happening in Makoko is not just a local issue; it reflects a broader pattern of displacement driven by unequal urban development. Located along the Lagos lagoon, Makoko sits on land increasingly targeted for high-value urban and luxury projects. Under the guise of “development,” communities are being pushed out to make way for investment and profit. We must come together to challenge these injustices and support communities defending their homes, their livelihoods, and their futures. Sign the letter and amplify this call 📢👇 ✒️ shorturl.at/q7ZKT #Makoko

On February 25, @Spaces4Change with support from the @OpenSociety flagged off the Womenpowa Initiative in Benue State, supporting 100+ beneficiaries, mostly displaced women and farmers from Guma and Gwer West Local Government Area, who have been victims of farmer–herder clashes.

We join the displaced residents of Makoko to say NO! to the forced displacement of the poor as an urban renewal strategy in Lagos State. Enough of sacrificing the poor in the name of urban development! STOP MAKOKO DEMOLITIONS!

If this barbaric genocide deliberately planned and executed in Benue sits well in the conscience of any human being, then we must morn, not only for the fallen thousands, but for what has died in such persons.
Action Group on Free Civic Space@ActionGroupFCS

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Benue is bleeding. Nigeria is watching in silence. Entire families are being wiped out, yet the headlines are quiet. We won’t be quiet. We won’t look away. 📣 Let’s amplify Benue’s voice. Let’s demand justice. State of Emergency Benue Fulani Enough is Enough

The Lagos Court demonstrated today that it is capable of protecting those who out of sheer necessity must speak out against injustices in their communities. I am grateful to @Spaces4Change for the opportunity to have successfully defended the rights activist, @Slumagbodemu15
Spaces for Change@Spaces4Change

Finally, Agbodemu is free!!! as the Lagos court, today, discharged and acquitted him of a criminal charge of breach of peace brought against him based on a Facebook post where he lamented the unlawful demolitions and mass evictions in his community in Lagos. @spaces4change provided legal representation, working tirelessly in the courtroom to uphold victory for free speech. Today, the court struck out the case for want of diligent prosecution! We couldn't have done this without the unwavering support of all our allies in the AGFCS, communities, partners and supporters throughout the trial. Thank you all!!!!

How can national authorities conduct terrorism financing risk assessments and develop risk-based regulatory measures for the non-profit sector without disrupting their legitimate charitable operations? @spaces4change organised the 2-day Learning and Practice Workshop with Ghana's Financial Intelligence Center and Ghana's NPO Secretariat to exchange ideas, lessons and strategies for conducting participatory TFRAs in accordance with the requirements of FATF Recommendation 8. We are grateful to @MottFoundation and @fatfplatform for the support.

@NgComCommission What are you doing to the obvious data breach of your consumers? We get calls out of the blue from these loan sharks offering instant loans to customers. The question is, how do they get our contacts details? They even call you by name! Please do something about it.

Spaces for Change (S4C) is calling on the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) to abandon the proposed Not-For-Profit Governance Code (NFPGC) 2023, as it duplicates existing regulations under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020. Nigerian non-profits are already burdened by excessive, confusing, and overlapping regulations from multiple government bodies, making full compliance nearly impossible. Click the link to view S4C's analysis of the NFPGC - shorturl.at/NlA9D

Very very hard. DO YOU REMEMBER ANIMAL FARM? Comrades!' he cried. 'You do not imagine, I hope, that we pigs are doing this in a spirit of selfishness and privilege? MANY OF US ACTUALLY DISLIKE MILK AND APPLES. I dislike them myself. Our sole object in taking these things is to preserve our health. Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. IT IS FOR YOUR SAKE THAT WE DRINK THE MILK AND EAT THOSE APPLES. The problem TINUBU has is that his actions don’t match his words The very first “critical” post I made on President TINUBU was in his convoy when he came to Lagos; I remember the pushback I got Tinubus's problem is his hordes of defenders who see no wrong in anything he does or spends The criticism of that long convoy came after BAT had spoken in line with prudence and sacrifice. If his supporter had challenged the optics of a 200 plus gas guzzling car convoy early and forcefully, then perhaps the President would not have added SUVs for the First Lady in his very first budget, which is designed to signal his economic intent Think about it: if the First Lady needed an SUV, many MDAs would fall over themselves to provide it; the reason why that budget item line was put there was to legitimatise the office; that was a tell to hiw the President see the federal resources. With no pushback, Tinubu proceeded to buy his jet Let's be clear: all these expenditures may be necessary for security or otherwise, but the President does not understand optics or does not care Ps Pictures are illustrative, I don't think that's the yacht
