@Nahanni_ @carefulmeasure I disagree with proportional voting systems. They reward parties who can’t field a comprehensive platform that is electable.

@carefulmeasure @PeterHRatcliffe Canada's governance wud be greatly improved if the right incentives were provided. We need a proportional voting system at every level of govt which accurately reflects the broadest range of citizens and ensures that govt is accountable to them.

Those happy Scandinavian countries have one important thing that keeps them so happy. Uncorrupted highly intelligent leadership that actually works to better the lives of everyone in their country. It’s the start and end of great government.

Saw a truly gorgeous Xpeng (China) EV in Portugal this week. Clearly a BYD competitor at the high end. The Chinese can teach Canada a lot about building EV. Goggle it.

In Portugal, I see that most utility poles are made of reinforced concrete. An endless variety of shapes and sizes. Modern concrete utility pole technology would be a great thing for someone in Canada to look at. They also use pre-cast high strength concrete railway ties.

The CPC always had an emergency parachute. They unstrapped and tossed it away when the pay for vote leadership review approved Pierre Poiliover yet again. They are approaching political fatal impact, now at terminal negative velocity. Joe Rogan hurts, not helps. Bad instincts.

It is very important for families who have experienced MAID chosen by a family member to speak out. It is important to demystify the option of MAID as we must fight to preserve that right for those who wish to choose it. Thank you.

The NDP, thanks to Pierre Poiliover could regain official party status and pass the CPC to be the official opposition. Stacked leadership reviews destroy political parties by ignoring the truth.

Finland is the Happiest country in the World for the 9th year running. We also climbed up the world brand index from 7th to 5th. I am often asked why we do well in these rankings. I do not think there is a magic potion, but it helps to have a society which strives towards freedom, equality and justice. The basis of it all is a welfare society, a robust education system, a sense of security and a close attachment to nature. There is no such thing as a perfectly happy society, but providing some building blocks that give us a chance to live a meaningful life, to help others, will nudge us in the right direction during the journey of life.

Pay for your oil in Chinese yuan, it passes through the Strait of Hormuz peacefully. Seems like a simple ask. Don’t host US or its allies military, Iran won’t strike you. Another simple ask. The war is over if the US pulls out completely. Simple.

Liberals are poised to win all 3 of the upcoming by elections giving them a majority. In addition, there’s at least 1 more CPC MP who is preparing to cross the aisle and join the surge of support for the Liberals. All helping to avoid a costly and unnecessary general election.

This seems both indicative and explanatory most weeks.

In the theater of Canadian politics, words like "failure" and "safety" are often thrown around to stir the heart. But if we pull back the curtain and look at the ledgers of the last decade (2016–2026), we see a truth that statistics tell more clearly than any campaign video. The First Ledger 👉 The Invisible Toll The video from Roman Baber speaks to a community under "failure." But when we open the ledger of the Jewish community, we look for the names of those lost to targeted assassinations or terrorist attacks. We look through the records of 2017, 2021, and 2024. The total number of Jewish Canadians killed in hate-motivated homicides in the last ten years is zero. ‼️⚠️ While there is an undeniable, ugly rise in harassment, graffiti, and fear—acts that are wrong and must be condemned—the "safety" of one's life, the most basic measure of government success, has remained intact. To call this a total "failure" is to ignore the fact that, in the most lethal sense, the protection of this community has held. The Second Ledger 👉 The Blood of the Faithful 👇 Now, we turn to a ledger that is heavy with ink. These are the names of Muslim Canadians. In this ledger, the "failure" isn't a political talking point; it is a funeral. • Six men killed while praying in Quebec City. • A family of four crushed by a truck in London, Ontario. • A caretaker stabbed outside a mosque in Toronto. In ten years, 11 Muslims have been murdered in targeted, hate-motivated attacks. While politicians film videos at synagogues claiming "failure," the community that has actually seen the most lethal targeted violence in the G7 often waits in the shadows for that same level of political outrage. The Third Ledger 👉 The Forgotten 6,800 Finally, we look at the largest ledger—the one that lists the 6,800 Canadians of all backgrounds who have been killed by criminal violence since 2016. • This ledger contains the 1,600 targeted assassinations—the "hits" and gang-related executions that happen in suburban parking lots and city streets. • It contains the victims of domestic violence and random street crime. These are the thousands of families whom the government truly failed to protect from the wave of organized crime and societal decay. Yet, their deaths rarely become the backdrop for a politician’s high-production video. So, the narrative in this post suggests a unique, catastrophic failure for one specific group. However, the data reveals a different reality: 1. Identity vs. Reality 👉 The Jewish community is facing a crisis of harassment, but the Muslim community has faced a crisis of homicides, and the general public is facing a crisis of organized crime. 2. The Misplaced Alarm 👉 To claim the government "failed" the Jewish community above all others, when they have not lost a single person to a hate-motivated killing in a decade, is a profound exaggeration. 3. The Selective Mourning 👉 When politicians focus on the "safety" of a group that is statistically safe from lethal violence, they are choosing to ignore the 11 lives lost to Islamophobia and the 6,800 lives lost to general violence. The claim that the government failed the Jewish community regarding "safety" ignores the reality of the 6,800 people killed in criminal violence. It ignores the 11 people killed for their Muslim faith. Safety for the Jewish community has remained a statistical fact for a decade.

The US policy to spend deficit dollars so they can avoid taxing billionaires is exactly as stupid as it sounds. Deficits should be investments in a better society, a more efficient society, or better healthcare or education. Deficits should not fund billionaires.

Trump’s badly planned 2026 Iran war will end in a negotiated settlement that leaves Iran’s nuclear program intact and ongoing. That’s my prediction. Iran has time and geography on their side.
