The reason the price hasn’t taken off yet is mainly down to two things. Firstly, we haven’t had proper price realisation. Most of the positioning has been happening quietly and privately, so the public market isn’t seeing the true liquidity picture. A lot of XRP is already committed off‑exchange, but because that isn’t visible, the price stays at its baseline, we are waiting for a liquidity realisation, which I believe will happen sometime between may 20 and June 10. Secondly, bridge transactions themselves don’t move price. They settle in seconds, so the same XRP can be reused over and over. What actually affects price is locked liquidity, when institutions need more XRP locked in corridors and pools than what’s available on the open market. That’s the point where the market is forced to revalue.

I'm Really Confused and Seeking Some Clarification Hello Everyone, So, I'm a bit confused about XRP. If XRP has been chosen as a bridge connecting other financial currencies, and countries like Dubai and Japan have already started using this technology, why hasn't its price skyrocketed? What is preventing XRP from reaching $1,000? Or, more realistically, $10? It clearly has great potential, especially since Trump took office, but I can't understand why the price is still so low? Is it because 80% of the supply is held by the creators of XRP? Could someone please provide an objective explanation, backed by figures and factual data? Thanks.

Depends what “better” means… If you mean faster, it’s XRP. If you mean cheaper, it’s XRP. If you mean instant finality, XRP. If you mean no gas wars, XRP. If you mean no MEV, XRP. If you mean scales without breaking, XRP. ETH has its place — but if the category is generally better than ETH. Then you have your answer.

I never expected the price to move after the Vegas event. That event was aimed at retail, and retail has very limited influence on XRP’s price today. Yes, retail pushed it to $3 in the past, but the next phase isn’t retail‑driven — it’s institutional. For the price to move, institutions and large whales need to buy on public rails, and they’re not doing that right now. I believe They’re accumulating through dark pools, OTC channels, and private rails where their activity doesn’t hit the public order books. The price will move when supply becomes a problem, not when retail gets excited. Based on the current rate of ~35M XRP leaving public liquidity per day, I estimate the supply crunch landing somewhere between 20 May and 10 June. That’s when the public market will feel the impact.

100%. My thoughts of what he said though. If I am rich and know XRP was going to 10,000. Why on earth would I A- want to pay £20 for it when I can spend £1, so I use dark pools/private ledgers, to keep price rock bottom. Absolutely not a naive question, it’s totally understandable to be torn between the two arguments. The way I’ve come to understand it is this: Market cap matters for speculative assets, but XRP isn’t valued like a stock, it’s valued by liquidity. Market cap is just price × supply, a label we calculate after the fact. It doesn’t act as a ceiling, and it doesn’t limit how high something can go. That’s why people say it’s “irrelevant” in XRP’s case. On the point about what David has said: he’s been cryptic for years, and a lot of his older posts can be interpreted in different ways. He’s also talked openly about selling early in past projects, so he clearly doesn’t pretend to have perfect foresight. Personally, when I look at it logically, if someone wanted to accumulate a large amount of any asset, they’d prefer the price to stay low while they accumulate. That’s just common sense. So I sometimes read his comments through that lens, not as literal predictions, but as someone who often speaks in riddles and leaves room for interpretation. That’s just my take, though. The bigger picture for me is still the same: XRP’s value comes from liquidity demand, not market cap limits. Ultimately XRP is a utility, so market cap doesn’t matter, it’s all about how much liquidity is available to carry out the required transfers which will dictate the price needed, hence the £10,000+ predictions. To give an example, if I owed you £50, it would be far easier on both of us, to give you a single £50 note, than it would to give it to you all in 10 pence pieces, less friction and far easier.

I hold enough XRP, but I keep seeing arguments that, given XRP's market capitalization and circulating supply, its price is practically impossible to exceed a few dollars. Meanwhile, others argue that market capitalization doesn't apply here, and utility is the ultimate driver of value. Some even claim that for global adoption, the price needs to… well, very much so, as David Schwartz suggests. So I'm a bit torn between the two.
