𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗴𝗲, 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. Took a day to walk the city and see a few things that have always been interesting to me after the Lens Summit. This bridge is one of those things as it's the only double-deck vertical lift bridge in the world. Crazy mechanism to witness in action. Traversed about 15 miles spread across a day and a half of hoofing about with the occasional stop to plop down the camera bag and compose a frame. Hasselblad X2D II, 55mm, 67 aspect ratio.

𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲.

𝗦𝗮𝗸𝘂𝗿𝗮. The vast sea of Cherry Blossoms were calmy outrageous with an intoxicating aroma that saturated the crisp brisk air. Though a large crowd was present, an occasional break in the horde combined with a breeze inspired the petals to detach and glide by around you, taking you to your own space, still and quiet for just a moment.

𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄 --> 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱. I am nearly always a window seat sort of fellow. Gives me time to think, reflect, tinker, imagine. Flight is focused meditation to tune out, but also tune way the hell in.

𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱. Enjoyed doing this panel discussing some topics surrounding the state of lenses with @atlaslensco + @dzofilm + @laowa.cine + @nisiopticsusa moderated by @jayholben at the @lens_summit event. I could have gone a few hours honestly and gone deeper, but we may or may not be in a golden age of glass for sure :) But there's more glass coming and perhaps some new ideas surrounding it all.

𝗔 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀. There were a few more than this, but this is the majority of new and interesting glass here at The Lens Summit in Portland. An astounding amount of choice filmmakers have in 2026. #cinematography

I've filmed a great deal of the canyon for several years from the helicopter for numerous projects, and it always delivers astonishing visuals at a scale that is hard to comprehend. In the right light, the tones are just wonderfully dynamic with compositions I can dive into for years only enhanced by a richness in texture that tells an ancient story that is hard to comprehend. #cinematography #aerial

There will be a day where you need to order a very specific length of Thunderbolt 5 cable and you will need an unusually large quantity of them for a shoot, but to make it less weird, you'll also have a small packet of Skittles included with your purchase. But hey, these are durable and pretty sweet.
