Until tonight I was not aware that there is a popular singer called Celeste. Until tonight, 5 lovely women from Liverpool weren't aware that there is a French avant-garde post-hardcore, post-black metal band called Celeste. Sadly for them I was not the one at the wrong gig.

I am nonbinary and take hormone blockers and HRT (estrogen, progesterone and testosterone) for reasons unrelated to my gender. I recently received this letter from my GP.

@forevercoco3 @OwenJHurcum The point is that GPs should be allowed to prescribe hormones for trans folks like any other cis requirement. It's about making it more accessible, not less.

@Naeluckmate @OwenJHurcum Absolutely not true. Plenty of cis people take hormones for medical reasons (birth control or estrogen for menopause for example), but people don't waffle on about it 🙃

#hrt and hormones are really really important, medically and culturally for lots of folx. Plenty of cis folks take hormones for a number of reasons (BIRTH CONTROL FOR EXAMPLE), and we don't bat a goddamn eyelash.

I deleted the last post because I didn't like how I said what I'm trying to get across. A redo: watching the #hrt and #transhealthcare awfulness in the UK, I am enraged that people who clearly don't understand how hormones work feel entitled to tell other people about biology.
