Reminds me of undesired upgrades to pre-releases, but that one looks like YOLO.

@sbarnea it doesn't -- doing so is nearly intractable. it parallelizes _within_ a hook (unless that hook sets `require_serial: true` -- which might be cargo cult / by mistake)

@pre_commit How does it know which hooks rewrite files? Based on my cpu usage I was almost sure it did not use all 10 cores. I need to look into it bit more.

I am wondering if @pre_commit would ever start running read-only hooks in parallel as this would greatly speed it up on modern computers.
