This is very cool and something people should celebrate. Kansas hired a great coach, has a definite host resume, is tuning in as a fanbase that historically hasn’t, & is making the effort to upgrade its venue for its biggest game this century. If you don’t like this you’re lame.

Going to go ahead and get out my take on the debate that comes up this week every single year. . . . Can’t pitch Valincius against Lipscomb. I’m holding him for game 2.

You want to criticize State’s (lack of) performance against top teams? Go for it. But literally every single of one State’s losses is to a 1 or 2 seed. Thats a hosting resume 10 times out of 10. Which is why they weren’t actually even on the bubble.

Literally Mississippi State’s biggest strength this season is 0 bad losses. They didn’t lose to Missouri - they run ruled them to advance to *checks notes* the SEC Tournament Quarterfinal. There are arguments you can make. This is not one of them.

Coach Gasso is pure class. I love how she honors the Lord and gives Him Glory in victory and defeat.

If I had a nickel for each time my favorite bat-&-ball-sport team adopted a produce item as a mascot, won 2 postseason rounds on the road, and advanced to the final tournament at the end of the year, I’d have $0.10–which isn’t a lot of money, but it’s weird that it happened twice

@FSUStan4L That checks out lol. We got sent out to their regional last year so I remember them a bit, but that was before their run so I’m sure they’re even worse now

@psull_12 The Tech fans are even worse rn because they bought a roster that has a ton of power and pitching lol, be prepared when you play them. They think they’re somebody when they haven’t done anything in softball yet

Oklahoma softball fans (and color commentators) are quickly skyrocketing my list of insufferability.

@FSUStan4L I am in fact new to watching OU softball closely! They’ve been stratospheres above us for forever so I haven’t been locked into games against them like this before. But I have no trouble believing that lol

The Texas/ASU broadcast has said more positive things about Mississippi State and its players in three minutes than the entire actual State/OU game broadcast team did.

It was unreal. That entire bottom of the 7th should have been about State and the historic nature of it. They’re still praising OU and their offense that was shut out today at home.
