.@TKOGrp President Mark Shapiro told a University of Alabama class that TKO has full control over @WWE creative.
He defended the increase in celebrity involvement (@LoganPaul, @PatMcAfeeShow, @markwahlberg) as a growth strategy, while admitting it may alienate parts of the fanbase.
Seems like this is the trade-off they’re willing to make as they continue forward.

Pause. Fans now pay for Netflix, Peacock (SNME), cable (USA Network), and ESPN+ just to follow WWE. That’s a lot when wallets are already stretched. Wanting a strong build and a fun PLE isn’t asking much. This WM felt rushed (not on the talent) and overloaded with ads. Watching live in the venue vs at home hits differently, and it’s fair to call that out.

I was at WrestleMania live and had a great time watching the show. Then I check Twitter and see people timing matches and breaking down “in-ring minutes” like it’s a lab experiment. Meanwhile, the Super Bowl only has about 11 to 18 minutes of actual gameplay in a 3+ hour broadcast (that’s a true stat BTW, look it up), and you don’t see diehard NFL fans obsessing over that. The way some wrestling fans consume the product is insane.
