Many people don’t seem to know what irony is. As the Alanis song should have taught you, ‘rain on your wedding day,’ is NOT actually ironic, it’s just a bummer. But getting married in a divorce court? Now THAT would be ironic. So protesting a war while being in a honeymoon suite with maid service is not irony, it is absurdity, or comedy. To be ironic they would have to have protested the war while driving a tank. Now THAT would’ve been ironic. Thank you.

@seanonolennon @XTwitmoDetainee @JulianLennon They were going to be in the press for literally anything they did anyway, so they used that opportunity to protest against the war in Vietnam. For me, it’s a great way of doing it. It got people talking and here we are all these years later still talking about it.
