Ren v2 is coming. We are heads down on it with a team of seven chads and are confident as ever that it will have a more outsized and sustainable impact on DeFi than Ren v1. We not only intend to address the more obvious protocol design and governance lessons that our community learned through Ren v1, but also some key constraints that we consider to be existential bottlenecks to the wider ecosystem. We are hoping to be out of stealth soon and can't wait to share everything about what we've been up to. The road has been long and bumpy, but Ren's brightest days are ahead.

Great day for crypto — and Ren v2. Tornado Cash is legal. Onchain privacy is a human right, and important for DeFi to flourish. Expect privacy pools to heavily complement v2. Our @X account was compromised earlier today and has now been restored.

We're still investigating but had two-factor Google Authenticator codes enabled on the account and stored offline. They were definitely not compromised. We can't confirm whether this was an OPSEC failure by @X, but considering our own OPSEC and how many other projects' accounts have been compromised in the past, it appears likely. The attacker forked the open-source RenBridge repo and deployed an instance to a fake URL. We don't have any information about them.
