We are the autobiographers of the universe. I want to be one of the best, discover and invent things useful for humanity so the light never turns off.

An engineer at Anthropic wrote a spec, pointed Claude at an Asana board, and went home. Claude broke the spec into tickets, spawned agents for each one, and they started building independently. When the agent is confused it runs git-blame and messages the right engineers in Slack. By Monday the agents finished the plugin feature. That's one example of how the best engineers are shipping software right now. Developers will soon orchestrate 50 AI agents in parallel and the difference between a good engineer & a great one would come down to specs. You can't write a spec that holds up at that scale without genuinely understanding what you're building at a deeper level. The next-gen developer who understands the fundamentals, can architect well and orchestrate agent is going to be a 1000x developer!

Agency > Intelligence I had this intuitively wrong for decades, I think due to a pervasive cultural veneration of intelligence, various entertainment/media, obsession with IQ etc. Agency is significantly more powerful and significantly more scarce. Are you hiring for agency? Are we educating for agency? Are you acting as if you had 10X agency? Grok explanation is ~close: “Agency, as a personality trait, refers to an individual's capacity to take initiative, make decisions, and exert control over their actions and environment. It’s about being proactive rather than reactive—someone with high agency doesn’t just let life happen to them; they shape it. Think of it as a blend of self-efficacy, determination, and a sense of ownership over one’s path. People with strong agency tend to set goals and pursue them with confidence, even in the face of obstacles. They’re the type to say, “I’ll figure it out,” and then actually do it. On the flip side, someone low in agency might feel more like a passenger in their own life, waiting for external forces—like luck, other people, or circumstances—to dictate what happens next. It’s not quite the same as assertiveness or ambition, though it can overlap. Agency is quieter, more internal—it’s the belief that you *can* act, paired with the will to follow through. Psychologists often tie it to concepts like locus of control: high-agency folks lean toward an internal locus, feeling they steer their fate, while low-agency folks might lean external, seeing life as something that happens *to* them.”

Intelligence is on tap now so agency is even more important

Elon's early SpaceX recruiting was simple: Finding the best engineers on Earth, no matter where they worked & Then convince them to build rockets.

You can learn a lot by reading the history of things, life & civilisation and observing what has not changed even now. Probably a better way to predict the future by working towards things that don’t change!

A very famous VC once told me: "I've been doing this for 25+yrs and let me tell you: I know little about tech. But I do know people. And I know the best founders are usually people so broken, often from childhood, with a chip on their shoulder so huge, it just won't go away."

@ericciarla @firecrawl @AgentOpsAI Does this include proxy support cause when you try scraping in bulk, scraping with same IP will cause so much issues. BrightData and this company I came across recently - browserbase solves these issues.

"Elon committed the enormous sin of creating a new American manufacturing dynamo of a company." Tesla workers are among the highest-paid manufacturing workers globally. Many Tesla workers have reportedly become millionaires through stock compensation. There's political opposition to Musk despite Tesla creating the type of manufacturing jobs politicians claim to want. Building Tesla is really no joke, one of the hardest things for sure!

Mark Zuckerberg explains the winning DNA of Meta. Even when people thought Facebook is gonna get obsolete with the rise of apps like Snapchat, Twitter & Instagram etc. Meta still stands as one of the most powerful companies in the world. Mark says Meta was never a social app or a social network, it's a technology company focused on Human Connections. Unlike other companies they've never limited themselves to a narrow point from the beginning. Meta's Technical foundation is so strong that it could venture into any domain & create major impact. Meta's ability to solve any problem also comes from Mark's engineering origin - he studied System Engg & this impacted the whole company's problem solving mindset. Also Mark noticed this in SV & made sure Meta didn't do this mistake - Not all companies who call themselves a Tech company is truly a technology company. As their management team & Board had Less engineers & even the CEO sometimes aren'y technical , they can't be considered a tech company, Meta has more engg in their Management & Board.

This story from @jesslivingston about @sama when he was 19 really talks about his personality. When PG was talking to Sam about interviewing for YC's first batch Sam emailed - "I'm pitching at a Stanford pitch contest so I can only interview on Saturday and not Sunday" PG replied back: "You know Sam you're only a freshman why don't you come next yr, this isn't your only chance" Sam replied with one line: "I'm a Sophomore & I'm coming" And he really did, then the interview for his first company loops was a no-brainer, they were really impressed by him.

Being open-minded and having a sense of humility is so crucial for being a great founder! Having humility especially when the company is doing well is so underrated.
