Today we joined the Tennessee National Guard Association to watch @GovBillLee sign the STRONG Act expansion. We are grateful to our State’s Guardsmen and Women and honored to have worked on this important legislation.

Proud to support our National Guard servicemen and women by signing the STRONG Act expansion. This is a key legislative initiative for my administration, and this new law will enhance education opportunities for those who protect and serve our state and country.

The TN House of Representatives just passed HB83 extending and expanding tuition assistance for our National Guard soldiers and airmen wishing to continue their education. We are proud to work alongside the National Guard Association to help advance this legislation!

Due to continuing severe weather and adverse road conditions, all @tnsenate meetings are cancelled for the remainder of this week. Members do not need to travel to Nashville. Staff is advised to work from home. The Cordell Hull Building will be closed. Stay safe everyone!

Due to severe weather, the Cordell Hull Office building will be closed Tuesday, February 16. All @tnsenate committee meetings that day are cancelled. Staff should not plan to report to work. We will continue to monitor the situation and update accordingly regarding rest of week.
