@MikeJ_Kessler Why do so many public schools in basketball make it to and are successful at the Breslin? Definitely more than private. It’s tough to argue with statistics and facts.

I’ve been told there’s a distinct advantage for private schools in MHSAA. 24-0… I guess it doesn’t count for that one. 43-14 yesterday. That one either. How about all the public schools that will be champs today? Congrats to them. Work hard, get better. That’s what they did.

Kendrick pronounces the name he mentions in a way that sounds like “Joel (Hale) Osteen”, which is mixing the names of Joel Osteen and Haley Joel Osment… - Joel Osment is a pastor who was impersonated by AI - Haley Joel Osment is an actor that starred in the movies “AI” and “Sixth Sense”

@FromTheSeidline There is no problem. Oversimplification of a solution...? Sounds a bit like forcing schools to reclass because your public school doesn't have the talent in players, coaches or trainers.

@FromTheSeidline Just a few years ago, Ypsi Lincoln had the biggest prospect in all of sports in quite a long time. Regardless of how he's panning out... it directly negates the narrative you're trying to write (along with all the facts/statistics I've listed and you ignore).

@rome_know I would think a team’s opponent might prevent it from moving on as well, and it’s definitely easier to accept defeat when said opponent competes with similar resources. 🤷

@rome_know Keep going… you’ve got my attention. Tell me about the non-athletic advantages & opportunities that a school like, let’s say, Lenawee Christian has over a public school like, let’s say, Tecumseh.

@FromTheSeidline It was inferred (picture at the Breslin (literally of pub vs priv), talk of a strong team's season ending...) The play on the court prevents them from getting there. The best teams win. And in MI HS Boys Ball, public teams dominate. The quickness to have an excuse is odd.

@rome_know My posts mention nothing about the Breslin Center, although the disadvantage that the public schools are facing certainly prevents them from getting there on occasion.

@FromTheSeidline @mkirk02 Because there's advantages and opportunity at those schools which aren't there in public schools. Those advantages are different than the advantage you claim private schools have over public in sports. 🤓

@rome_know There’s nothing in the post that points to basketball except the photo. Figured it was a timely photo since the game was played yesterday. This is bigger than basketball for sure! That said, we can talk basketball all you want as the discrepancy certainly applies to that sport.

@mkirk02 @rome_know Same rules, maybe? Same reality, not so much. Look at some of these private school teams that are winning districts & regionals this year. The majority of players are there for athletic reasons. They are choosing to be part of an elite team. That’s cool, but make them play up.

@FromTheSeidline Again, that's what was brought up originally. You have a basketball post and use a specific game. Now moving the goal posts as we talk. I'm basketball, public schools reign supreme. Now are we switching to strictly d4? Well, this example you use is a bit off base.

@rome_know Again, this is not about who wins the championship every year. This is about every individual matchup along the way. Maybe it’s time to minimize the advantage and have D2, D3 & D4 private schools play up one classification in each sport (and 2 in football). As for D1…🤷

@rome_know @FromTheSeidline Getting to the final 4 is a very difficult task. If you look at D4 it is constantly filled with private schools. How many public schools have been there back to back? It’s different for sure.
