Insight: All areas were above the WHO guide of 35-40 dB(A). Nosies were both background and startle. Literature focuses on impact on patients with measures in place. But we found noise can have a significant impact on staff cognitive load and well being.

Group Safety Priority #2 ergonomics. High impact learning from SEIPS based learning responses = our safety improvement being focused on the impact of ambient noise. We've captured 613714 sound samples over 34 hours of recording in critical care environments.
