.@dango mainnet is now 1 week old. It hasn't been smooth sailing, and I appreciate you for sticking with us! I'd like to address some common concerns here. --- Complaint 1. Maintenance is not well communicated: announcements failed to reach users, no clear ETA for completion, causing anxiety and FUD Totally valid point. We will establish the following protocol regarding maintenance: - All mainnet maintenance will be announced at least 2 days in advance, in both Discord and on dango.exchange frontend - Reminders will be sent 2 days, 1 day, and 30 minutes prior to the commencement of maintenance - Software deployed to mainnet must be tested thoroughly on testnet for at least 2 days Complaint 2. Liquidity issue: order book is thin on one side, spread is big At the current time, DLP operates on very conservative risk parameters. When it has a long/short position, it will attempt to deleverage in order to reduce its exposure to volatility. Specifically, DLP is currently holding a BTC long. To reduce the long, it will: 1) increase sell order size, 2) decrease sell spread, 3) decrease buy order size, 4) increase buy spread, explaining the liquidity situation you're observing. Over the following days, we will gradually ramp up risk tolerance, so the effect you're observing will alleviate. We are also working on onboarding 3rd party market makers, so that we don't rely on DLP as the sole maker. Complaint 3. Execution failures: errors closing/opening positions This was caused by an update we executed ~18 hours ago, which added more strict margin checks for order placement. It is proven to be too strict. This has been fixed -- the upgrade we executed an hour ago relaxes it to the level of typical industry standard. Following the exploit on Monday, the team shipped a big number of security guardrails aimed to strengthen the protocol's safety, with this being one. --- In short, we went through some turbulence that is not unusual for a new project. We're confident things will only get better from here!
