Saying "trademark" when what happened was "registration" isn't a matter of terminology — it's objectively false.
One might as well say "baby" for "birth certificate"

2. You acquire a trademark through use, not through a trademark registration. However, everyone uses this wording so I think fighting this terminology might be a losing battle. If we can just get people to stop saying objectively false things though, that would be great.
