In its 11 a.m. weather advisory, the state weather bureau last spotted Fung-Wong about 1,315 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, packing maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour and gusts up to 125 kph. It remains outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) but is expected to breach the country’s waters by late Friday evening or early Saturday morning.
