I'm looking into transmasc related surgeries to be more read on them, and it feels like they kinda get shafted compared to the number of procedures and surgeon options transfems have

@fucknoshitfuck @SFTheeboG @catkaldir I don't pass btw, only e, no voice training, only recently got good levels and starts actually looking more fem, still can't really dress how I want, + having to learn that. again I'd say it's somewhzt more socially acceptable for trans men to explore their masculinity earlier 🤔

@snuffbaitmutt @SFTheeboG @catkaldir My point was that clothes and gait and voice work *for you* because you have more of the other layers. It often doesn't work for those that don't.

@fucknoshitfuck @SFTheeboG @catkaldir oh but! with the difference that in our society I'd say it's a little less frown upon to be seen as a butch/tomboy than as a tr4nny f4g. mostly because of masculinity contests bs, if you're not performing masculinity correctly, you're demasculinized and dehumanized.

@fucknoshitfuck @SFTheeboG @catkaldir honestly I'd say it's the same for us (+voice training). but even then it's fairly even, we get tits but need to voice train, you get voice but need surgery, cost aside I am aware it's a big deal, but my point earlier is that ffs can be around as necessary as top surgery

@fucknoshitfuck @SFTheeboG @catkaldir yup, details adding up is what makes one clocky, by taking care of the bigger ones you can make it so other ones aren't as significant for passing, and the ones you really cannot change and if hopefully they're not "crucial", you just have to get at peace with them...

@snuffbaitmutt @SFTheeboG @catkaldir For any trans person, there are going to be some panes you'll never be able to swap out, but with enough other panes of the right color you can make them not a significant change to the overall color being read as, say, red instead of yellow.

@rootbeerbog @SFTheeboG @catkaldir trans men not having as much community as trans women up until fairly recently is probably a big reason. but I swear that a big one is that most surgeries already exist for things cis men are insecure about (beside genital stuff, and even then...)

@rootbeerbog @SFTheeboG @catkaldir I'd say this is mostly because t can do so much, especially taken earlier. in any case both e and t doesn't really make you a woman/man instantly, after you go through this second puberty, the second biggest thing comes into play and it's simply aging as a woman/man

@fucknoshitfuck @SFTheeboG @catkaldir a cis woman not putting in the work it needs to be seen as a woman (effort women are expected to put in), is more likely to be seen as a man or ambiguous (patriarchal society, ambiguity is resolved by the masculine)

@fucknoshitfuck @SFTheeboG @catkaldir yes, bone change is the biggest factor but I believe that most often, t over e based puberty is more effective (change wise, for passing), than e over a t puberty. this is not only physical traits but also that, in a patriarchal society, people are more likely to be seen as men.
