Is it normal to have to pay to book seats on a flight that you have already booked (and paid for)? Pricing ranging from R560 to over R3000 per flight. I’ve never had to pay to book seats before 😨 @qatarairways

@steadyrob @qatarairways Honestly outrageous when you’ve spent a couple thousand on the flights, now to spend thousands again to ensure you aren’t seated by the toilets 😒😣 Traveling on a budget is really quite a shit show, and not actually budget friendly 😆

@Sarahious Not really a consideration for Qatar, but for low cost short haul flights, they also milk other charges like a massive penalty for not doing online check-in and ridiculous baggage policies. So if you're planning any other trips - beware.

@Sarahious If you're travelling alone, I know it sounds counter-intuitive, but don't check in early. They try to force passengers to pay by allocating crappy seats first. I've found you have a better chance of a free isle or widow seat if you check in about 4 hours before the flight.

@SaoirsetSeachla @johannesvdploeg I came here to suggest the same thing. It doesn't make sense (I would do so far to say impossible to be slower via ethernet). You sure you're connecting via the lan cable and direct to your router?

This is such an incredibly weird stance to take. I’ve actually never quite seen anything like the reaction from a small pocket of South African fans towards anything Dupont related. Nothing mentioned about the Springboks or ABs in the original tweet and it somehow gets brought up… Really bizarre.
