I remember this day! It was a terrible day with tornadoes everywhere! This tornado, or the storm that produced it, traveled over 300 miles. It came through my county and neighboring counties, killing several people and leveling houses. Fortunately, this storm missed my part of the county by several miles. It was still very stormy, and my wife and kids rode it out in the basement. I unfortunately was at work, seeing all the destruction and worried about what was happening at home. I also got accused of abandoning my family, so I was in the “dog house” for a few months.
