@alphalosophy I mean, philosophically I agree. It just isn’t my temperament. I needed something to heatsink a bunch of energy into so I joined some volunteer efforts and now for better and worse I’m getting info main lined 😂 I feel like I have agency in all this, so thankful for that

@texasboytitus Got it. The current way I do that is the smart lock to hold the keys and do an update from within the contract manager. The specified camera source prohibits photo roll so you know it’s a Live Photo.

@texasboytitus Say more about pulse point 😎 the “device is on and indeed locked” is more in the realm of the smart lock. If you sign a public contract it’s essentially an attestation you’re locked.

@snorkelparka @BeMyEyes Right now tracker is a web app added to the home screen. Since it isn't distributed via the app store it has _way_ more limited access to what it can do. So triggering ring tones is probably off the table but I can double check.

@subspacedboy Could it trigger the ringtone though? I have another app (@BeMyEyes) that somehow can. Albeit in realtime, not scheduled. So the scheduling would need to be server-side, I guess...

@snorkelparka Given the pieces today I'd say the only thing that really needs to be added is "total distance between checkins." Subs can add their own arbitrary checkins if they want. Something like "total distance between all checkins today" might do that.

@subspacedboy perhaps even rotated a random angle away from north, would protect my subs' privacy but give me enough control to ensure they are working hard and obeying.

@snorkelparka A sub making fixed+aliased locations is how it works now. They can be updated though (somewhat, and for now) because it makes a lot of downstream stuff way more complicated to have them truly un-editable.

@subspacedboy Sorry, I think I expressed myself imprecisely. I meant that the sub would create fixed, aliased locations that can never change nor be updated. Then I can tell the sub which point to check in to and when. I would just need to know how far apart they are so I can allow
