I don’t think people understood the genius of this scene. The low angle shot of Peter shows his superiority as Spider-Man, untouchable. But when we come back to him after MJ’s reaction, they are now at the same level because they are equals. No more secrets, no more mask between them. That’s genius filmmaking

Go read about Operation Teapot - held in the Nevada desert. Series of above ground tests - where troops were near the blast site and used as guinea pigs to test what would happen. They were all given radiation detectors for their uniform which always read safe levels even though they were not.
