Body line bowling to stop 15 years old Vaibhav Suryavanshi doesn’t fit well with me. I know he is playing against the big boys but the father in me doesn’t agree with that.

Out of 14 games batters generally play 3-4 good knocks. Tilak has done that. So it’s not been that bad for him. Varun was bad initially, but he has come back strong after being dropped. Washi has done his role whenever needed. Yes too much of cricket will cause fatigue. But due to franchise commitments. They are forced to play. Just as the BCCI gives rest to players, franchises also should consider resting their players once in a while.

Varun Chakravarthy - He had a disastrous 2021 T20 WC. It never looked like he will come back. But he improved his game and became the leading wicket taker in this cycle. He might have had few good games towards the end but he took an important wicket of Seifert in the end. Surya Kumar Yadav - Honestly, apart from a very important knock in the first game of the world cup, he has had a quiet tournament. But he led the side pretty well. Throughout the cycle no one expected him to have such a good resume. 42 wins in 52 games and just 8 more wins away from becoming the most successful T20 captain ever. The continuous backing of his players was great quality. The only thing now which I expect from him is to be more consistent with the bat. Md Siraj, Washi, Kuldeep, Rinku - being on the sidelines is not easy, but these players were there and performed whenever needed. Courage to Rinku for continuing the game after a big personal loss. Coaching Staff and Selectors: They are the ones who showed the vision to the side and the team executed it. Whenever needed they backed the side, they explored different possibilities and rewarded performances in T20 cricket. This is the second consecutive white ball title for this coaching staff. But the Job is not done yet. We have a WTC Final, Test revival and an ODI world cup to win. I hope they can take this forward to the other formats as well. P.S. - This team could still continue till 2028 if their form stays.

T20 World Champions Again 2 years is a very long time and to be consistent over those long 2 years without dropping any bilateral/multilateral series is a commendable effort. The spark started after the 2022 T20 WC when we were hammered by England by 10 wickets and it became a fire after the 2024 T20 WC when the mindset and goal for the team completely changed. It was more about dominating the game than focusing on the results. This gave the players a lot more freedom and the sword of expectations was removed from their heads. A lot of this credit must go to the IPL as well, whether it is SRH’s and KKR’s style of play in 2024 or the addition of impact player which gave the batters confidence to take more risk( yes it has impacted on the 6th bowling option but every decision has some pros and cons). Before going into the players and coaching staff. Few commendable decisions which played an important role in this WC. Adding Ishan out of now where. Breaking the left handed top 3 pattern by adding Sanju and moving Ishan to 3. Moving Tilak to lower middle order. Continuously backing your players even when they were not having a good time. JASPRIT BUMRAH. Now coming to the people who were involved in it. Abhishek Sharma - What a cycle he has had. Everyone expected him to go all the way this world cup and be miles ahead of everyone which he did for two years. 1438 runs at a SR OF 190+. Could be an evil eye struck him 😅. But he came good when the big final came in. Sanju Samson - Chetta. He has had the most difficult time in the past two years. He was annihilating side in the start then lost his momentum and place. Then came back to open but was not at his best. Didn’t start the 11 and then came back to adjust the combination and conquered it. 3 knockout games and 3 scores of 89+. That is commendable. Hope he continues to flourish. Ishan Kishan - He was the out of syllabus surprise package in the side. He was nowhere near the 15 but one good SMAT season performance got him a place in the side and he did not disappoint. Whenever the team needed hik to score he was there battling it out. The game against Pakistan being his best. Also his catching in the final was superb. Tilak Verma - He came back to the side after an injury and initially did not look comfortable at No.3 with spinners coming on early. The move to send him down the order worked wonders for him and he produced some match winning knocks. 21(7) against England was massive. Hardik Pandya - The Aura King. He is just like Bumrah, one of a kind all rounder. The team hasn’t been able a find a replacement for him yet. That proves how ahead is he of his peers. You give him bat, he will score runs. You hand him the ball, he will pick wickets. The wicket of Shahibzada Farhan and the aura after that was peak. Shivam Dube - The silent guardian. Every game when the team was crumbling a bit and it looked like the team lost momentum, he was there as a catalyst to expedite that momentum. Opposition were not able to dismiss him. He only got out because of wrong cals during running from his partners. He was an important cog in 2024 final, Asia Cup final and even in this final with those 28 runs at the end. Axar Patel - The only BAPU, whom everyone will agree to call as the new father of the nation 😜. If there is Hardik as a reliable pace bowling all rounder then there is Axar as a reliable spin bowling all rounder. He took crucial wickets whenever needed but those two catches in the semi final will highlight his tournament. Arshdeep Singh - Paaji was always to lighten the mood in the camp and also lighten up the crowd with his wicket taking skills. @CricCrazyVeena They haven’t batted it like a test match. The defence game is not there leading to too many indecisions and funky shots. They played well at home last time, but they were not prepared for this WACA pitch.

Even if there’s no dew, batting second is still a much better option on a flat Wankhede wicket. Trying to understand the logic behind why Surya Kumar Yadav wanted to bat first.

They will have to play both. Reason being the form of Green. Yes they have payed him a lot, but does it become mandatory to play your highest paid player. Bowling is the where their weakness lies now. Not sure if Pathirana will be fit in time. Whichever replacement they pick for Fizz should be a top class bowler. Or else Go with Allen, Seifert, Powell and Narine and trust god with bowling.

I don't understand how KKR can fit both Allen and Seifert. Because Narine's place is absolutely non-negotiable. So If they decide to field both, they are left with only one OS spot. Then you can't play Green because you have to play an OS Pacer. Harshit, Pathirana are injured. Still no replacement announced for Fizz. Can't go with Vaibhav + Akash and Green and 3rd seamer. Russell used to bowl regularly at death so u could play that combination of 2 pacers and him.

@CricCrazyVeena India needs to build a good pace attack for overseas tours. What we have currently are mostly medium pacers. Batting at the moment for overseas conditions only Smriti can manage scoring big and with a decent SR, rest all take more time to settle which will not help here.

This whitewash is really disappointing. It’s hard to blame just one person because, honestly, the whole team had a bad series. The constant chopping and changing in the playing XI hasn’t helped either. On a pace-friendly pitch, going in with so many spinners didn’t really make sense. First, in an ideal situation, Harman should hand over the captaincy of this format to Smriti. Second, if she really wants to play in the next ODI World Cup, she needs to play that brand of cricket bcoz some really potential players are waiting.
