Incredible that Whedon accidentally made an effective, if ham-fisted, commentary about US foreign policy/the resentment towards the US over its warmongering and how Steve is a symbol of that...only for it to be removed, lol.

Avengers: Age of Ultron has a deleted scene where Captain America arrives in Sokovia and sees graffiti of himself with the word "Fascist" written across his helmet He throws it back in the jet The Sokovians saw the Avengers as a foreign military force entering their country without permission. Cap understood that. He removed his helmet to show his face. A soldier, not a symbol. Marvel cut it. Civil War makes so much more sense with this scene.
