Not all conflict is the same. Not all conflict is harmful. It's helpful to differentiate between three kinds of conflict: 1) Creative conflict (the one to run towards) - friction that sparks innovation; thrives in spaces where disagreement is encouraged, not seen as a threat. 2) Personal conflict (the one to approach with caution) - if we don't address it, it festers & we trade short-term comfort for long-term team dysfunction. 3) Work conflict (the one that depends on context) - arises from power issues, unclear expectations, or competing priorities; what one person sees as healthy debate, another may perceive as aggression.
