@bob_latham @ABridgen The evidence that C02 has a significant impact on the climate is overwhelming. I’m gobsmacked you think that. You need to start reading some decent books. But there is a wider point, people with views like yours pose an existential threat to my grandchildren. Get a grip.

@techopian @ABridgen A reasonable warning based on facts and experience. Climate predictions were based on neither. They were based on the absurd idea that CO2 is the temperature control knob.

@benonwine I heard the moon is made of cheese. Imagine the implications if this is true. This is why I don’t pay much attention to scientists or official statistics. They ignore common sense, like for example that the moon did in fact begin as fermented milk

People online are claiming planes are allegedly arriving into Manchester Airport at night carrying hundreds of people from Syria and Gaza. Right now these are still unverified online rumours but the reason they spread so fast is because so many people feel there is zero transparency from the Government on immigration. If this is in fact true and the Government are hiding these facts from the British people this is on a different level of treachery.

@Soubriquet_ @Artemisfornow This analysis is half right - shame you had to mention migration, not sure AI is going to lead to higher taxes — except maybe for the small number of people who own it. But why? Why are these things happening? Until you try to answer this question moaning about it is pointless.

Taxes will need to rise substantially to meet the substantial fallout of the AI revolution. We are already seeing the beginning with high youth engagement. It will get much worse, older more experienced will follow rapidly. No government has an answer to what’s coming so they are all ignoring it hoping it’s not a problem under thier watch. In the UK we are already seeing great stress amongst our population. Taxes are rising benefits are at an all time high now absorbing all of the income tax revenue! Anxiety is one of the most reported illnesses and it disproportionately affects younger generations who are no doubt struggling to live in an economy where wealth has been transfered to the older generation through asset inflation. Most young people have zero chance of ever owning a home. Most of these will not have children because of this. Mass migration, the civil service solution, is breaking society, balkanisation is already rearing its ugly head and it will get worse. Polititions again ignore the problems, labelling them culturally too hot to touch. It will get worse. The bond markets may save the day by calling time on this managed decline, on the other hand they may not. Either way dark times lie ahead for those in the UK that much is absolutely certain now.

@piersmorgan Ummm. Badly organised back stabbing is what politicians do. The demise of Thatcher was equally chaotic. Johnson was worse and there was more justification too. The treatment of May was a disgrace. This is not unique to Labour. Do you think it would be any different under Farage?

Reform UK have quietly built one of the most formidable political teams this country has seen in years. Nigel Farage. Zia Yusuf. Richard Tice. Robert Jenrick. Suella Braverman. That is a team capable of completely reshaping British politics. For the first time in years I genuinely feel optimistic about Britain's future.
Ben Graham tweet media
Ben Graham@BenGrahamUK

Nigel Farage will rightly receive huge praise in the coming days for leading Reform to a devastating victory over Labour, the Conservatives and the Greens. But enormous credit also has to go to Zia Yusuf. His vision, organisation and belief helped turn Reform from a protest movement into a serious political force. Without him, this simply does not happen. Seeing so many people unite behind Reform and stand up to Keir Starmer makes me genuinely optimistic about the future of the UK.

Already under heavy scrutiny, Keir Starmer signs off on parachuting his niece into a “safe” seat in Croydon, after sidelining two respected local councillors. What message does that send? Not merit. Not fairness. Not democracy. At a time when trust in politics is already thin, this looks like pure entitlement. Is this really what “clean politics” looks like?

@granviledufleur @JamesMelville @jaelmolew Your logic is backwards. The cost is a one-off, plus maintenance cost. With fossil fuels cost is ongoing. Yes:, solar and wind have a life span — that’s their strength. Oil doesn’t, every unit consumed has to replaced. The whole anti net zero narrative is the real scam

@JamesMelville @jaelmolew Don’t forget, most of that cost will need to be repeated. Solar panels, wind turbines all have a lifespan. So that’s not just £4.5 Trillion once. It will be an ongoing trillion pound cost to maintain the levels of energy production to ensure the lights don’t go off.

@Robbie_Reasons Because: • The North Sea is not homonymous, just because there is oil in one part doesn’t mean it is in another part • The UK extracted oil more rapidly than Norway, depleting its fields more quickly, • Oil in UK part is sold by private companies to the markets

The North Sea should be Britain’s economic engine. Instead, we’re choosing decline, importing energy, exporting jobs, and handing wealth to Norway, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. They drill. They profit. They build sovereign wealth. We hesitate. We regulate. We fall behind. We’re not saving the planet. We’re just making ourselves poorer.

Dear Sadiq Khan, I think some of the prejudice to do with 'singling out Muslims' is to to with their stated intention to kill 'infidels', expecially the bit about beheading them You see, the other religions don't promise that

British values mean defending everyone’s right to practise their faith freely. In London, I’m proud Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims and others can celebrate in Trafalgar Square. Singling out Muslims isn’t ‘British values’ - it’s prejudice. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/…

It is being reported that Chancellor Rachel Reeves will today argue for increasing alignment with European Union single market rules and greater development of artificial intelligence (AI) in Britain. Who will tell her she can have one or the other — but not both? While the UK is already the 3rd biggest AI power on the globe (after USA/China) the EU’s ‘prudential’ approach to regulation had already made it an AI backwater. The EU will understandably not let us pick and mix when it comes to closer alignment, which would inevitably mean our AI development coming within the dead hand of the Brussels’ regulatory ambit. She’d never give me an interview but perhaps someone from His Majesty’s Political Press Corps, which does have regular access to her, might like to mug up on this and ask her how these conflicting aims can be reconciled.
