Very Cherry was investigated for operating as a management/entertainment agency without registering under Korea’s Popular Culture and Arts Industry Development Act. CL and several other celebrities with one-person agencies received “suspension of indictment”. This means the violation is acknowledged but the case will not go to trial. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism acknowledged that there was poor oversight and insufficient promotion of the registration requirement.
