@TheOnlyKemi @TheEmmalez This sounds so much like my workplace. They did something similar to a colleague, a role was changed twice within two months and there was no compensation or formalities, she raised a complaint and she was forced to resign. Most of these companies are users, glad you left.

One of the reasons I left my former workplace still makes me laugh. A colleague and I joined the company through NYSC and were both retained afterward. We were both promised a salary review. Months turned into a year. Nothing changed. Or so I thought. From almost the beginning, my boss just never seemed to like me. Anytime someone complimented my work, my dressing, my makeup, or even my hair, she'd immediately point out something "wrong." If I finished my tasks early, she'd find extra work for me. She changed my role twice within a year. Meanwhile, others stayed in the same position. I kept telling myself maybe she was just a difficult boss. Maybe I was overthinking it. Then I noticed something strange. I was always the one complaining about the delayed salary review. My colleague had suddenly gone quiet. Whenever I brought it up, he'd just smile and say, "Don't worry, it'll happen." One day, I spoke to someone in management. That's when I found out his salary had actually been increased in our second month after being retained. Mine never was. I confronted him. He admitted it. Apologized for keeping it from me. That conversation answered a lot of questions. Maybe I wasn't imagining things after all. So I kept quiet. I planned January's workload. Collected my December salary. Collected my Christmas package, rice, chicken, oil, and every other goodie. 😂 Attended the end-of-year party. Ate to my satisfaction. Then, I submitted my resignation letter. Walking out of that office felt like peace.

I worked in at least three to four places before I gained admission, worked during Covid and ASUU strike, I did IT in part 3, so now I have working experience even before graduation. I was able to get a job after convocation thanks to these experiences.

Well… my introverted, indoor friend ended up marrying her flatmate. When she first moved in, they weren’t even that close. Over time, they became really good friends. Then one day she called me and said, “Ife, I think I’m starting to like this guy.” Me, that had already admired the guy’s personality from afar, immediately told her to stylishly shoot her shot. On her birthday, he took her out and she asked him to be her boyfriend. They got married in February last year and got divorced early this year. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I wasn’t expecting that ending either, but life does write its own scripts. 😔
