In our tradition, she may have to leave my younger siblings behind or make them take another man’s name. As her son, I may not even visit or stay with her again. I feel hurt, angry, and betrayed. I can’t imagine her with another man. If I were financially stable, I’d take her and my siblings away. Now I fear losing both my mum and family. If she goes ahead, I may cut ties completely.
