@themirl No no no..Eklund stays. He is a year from being NHL ready, despite his start in the AHL..this organization has been guilty of bringing people up too fast...chyzowski, bertuzzi, Fichaud among others, excluding 48.

Takes guts to fire a coach at this stage, but something had to change for #isles after so many slow starts in huge games lately. Lineup could still use jolt of energy, too. Call up Victor Eklund today! 6 assists in first 4 games in AHL. Could be the spark that offense needs.

NYK fans should be eternally grateful for Thibs. Their best coach since JVG. But was clearly outcoached by Carlisle. Can argue he was outcoached vs BOS and DET. Didn’t use bench enough until too late, too many dumb fouls, turnovers. Took them as far as he could. No shame in that.
